🐾 We’re Hiring: 1 Part-Time Weekend Veterinary Technician (Overnight) at AUCSOC!
Animal Urgent Care of South Orange County is expanding our weekend team! We’re looking for a part-time Veterinary Technician who is passionate about emergency medicine, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a close-knit, supportive crew that treats each other like family.
🕘 Position Available:
- Weekend Overnight Tech – Saturdays & Sundays (11:30p to 8a)
✨ Who We Are:
We are a Thrive Pet Healthcare emergency and urgent care hospital open overnight and 24/7 on weekends and holidays. We serve over 75 referring general practice clinics and assist Mission Viejo Animal Services with wildlife and strays. We focus on high-quality, compassionate care for our patients and gold-standard support for our team members.
🩺 Responsibilities Include:
- Patient triage and treatment support for hospitalized and incoming ER cases
- Technical skills: IV catheter placement, blood draws, radiographs, lab work, anesthetic monitoring, surgical prep
- Client communication and education alongside DVMs
- Supporting a clean, organized, and safety-compliant treatment area
- Collaborating across shifts and roles for continuity of care
💪 Ideal Candidates:
- RVT or experienced Veterinary Assistant (Level 2+ preferred)
- Prior ER, ICU, or specialty experience a plus — but not required
- Comfortable with high volume, emotionally intense cases
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
- Strong teamwork mindset and a sense of humor are musts!

💸 Compensation:
- VA Level 1 (Yellow Badge): $20–$23/hr
- VA Level 2 (Green Badge): $22–$25/hr
- Vet Tech Level 1 (Light Blue Badge): $24–$28/hr
- Vet Tech Level 2 (Navy/Maroon Badge): $28–$34+/hr
Shift Differentials (stackable!):
- +$2/hr Overnight Differential for any hours worked between 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- +$3/hr Weekend Differential for any hours worked between Friday 6:00 p.m. – Monday 8:00 a.m.
🎯 You’ll automatically earn both if your shift overlaps both windows!
