Position Summary The NetSuite Solution Architect is a senior-level role responsible for the overall design, development, and implementation of solutions within the NetSuite platform. This individual will serve as the primary technical and functional expert, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and scalable system architecture.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep, practical understanding of NetSuite's capabilities and a robust knowledge of core accounting principles. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Operations, and IT to analyze processes, design robust solutions, and ensure the integrity and optimization of the client's financial and business systems.
Key Responsibilities Solution Design & Architecture: - Lead discovery and design workshops with key stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical design documents, architectural diagrams, and process flows.
- Design and architect scalable, end-to-end solutions across NetSuite modules, including Advanced Financials, Inventory Management, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and CRM.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to NetSuite best practices, minimizing technical debt and maximizing platform performance and scalability.
Hands-on NetSuite Expertise: - Perform hands-on configuration of NetSuite modules to meet business needs.
- Leverage strong accounting knowledge to design and implement financial processes, including chart of accounts structure, revenue recognition (ASC 606), advanced billing, fixed asset management, and multi-book accounting.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data and support the Finance team during period-end close processes, audit inquiries, and financial reporting.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all NetSuite financial functionalities.
Leadership & Governance: - Act as one of the primary NetSuite SME (Subject Matter Expert) within the NetSuite practice.
- Manage a portfolio of NetSuite-related projects, from scoping and planning to deployment and post-launch support.
- Establish and enforce governance policies for system changes, data management, and user permissions.
- Mentor junior administrators and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience Required (Must-Have): - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of extensive, hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP, including implementation, customization, and administration.
- Demonstrable, strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial business processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience designing and architecting complex, scalable solutions within the NetSuite platform.
- Good understanding of the capabilities of SuiteCloud Platform tools, including SuiteBuilder, SuiteFlow, and SuiteScript (experience with SuiteScript 2.x is highly desirable).
- Experience leading data migration and system integration projects.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have): - NetSuite Certified Administrator, ERP Consultant, or SuiteCloud Developer certification.
- Direct experience in a corporate accounting or finance role before moving into a systems role. CPA is a significant plus.
- Experience with NetSuite OneWorld, Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), and SuiteCommerce Advanced (SCA).
- Experience with integration platforms such as Celigo, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft.
- Strong project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
