Trade Desk Support - Linux, Python automation, applications

SALARY: $110k - $125k 

LOCATION: CHICAGO, IL

Couple of days a week onsite

Looking for a candidate with trading/financial industry experience.

• You will be doing trade desk support, handling first and second level support, requests, incidents, production support.
• Trading industry experience, Unix workstations, Unix commands, MySQL, Python/bash scripting.
• Linux desktop support experience.
• Handle L1 thru L3 level support of service requests/incidents in a professional and timely manner.
• Customer service and production support are the most important aspects of this role.
• A degree is a must.
• You will need 5+ years of experience supporting Linux on the frontend and Linux on the backend (trade application support on the frontend and connected to the backend).
• Linux performance log files, Python and Perl for automation.
• If you do not have trade support, you must have financial application support on front and back production support.
• Must have strong unix/linux.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments.
• Proactive identification and resolution of production issues.
• Development of tools and driving efficiency/stability improvements/ automation with scripting.
• Troubleshooting of complex systems issues.

Required:

• Previous experience in the trading industry.
• Strong working knowledge of UNIX environment/Unix commands.
• Basic database knowledge (MySQL).
• Strong scripting knowledge - Python/Bash.
