Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Agent Relationship Specialist is to increase engagement and loyalty to TVH by licensed insurance agents who sell TVH accepted insurance plans. Additionally, the Agent Relationship Specialist will develop strong relationships among our agent partners. This highly visible role will be responsible for supporting sales and marketing activities that result in growth of eligible Medicare Advantage patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with current and potential licensed insurance agents who sell TVH accepted plans to establish and maintain a strong knowledgebase of TVH services.
  • Perform “regular” New Patient Specialist duties, including acting as an educator and concierge for all new patients.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goal expectations (Medicare Advantage sales) and number of agent partner establishments as outlined by the manager of sales and marketing.
  • Follow up on warm leads, assist in maintaining lead referrals and attend events to meet prospective patients. Schedule prospective patients for their initial appointment with The Villages Health; provide care center tours to prospective patients of TVH and ensure an overall consistent and positive new patient experience.
  • Consistently reach out to patients turning 65 (aging in) to educate them about their Medicare options and to promote TVH accepted Medicare Advantage plans.
  • Teach Medicare Simplified classes at least twice per month or as assigned by the manager of sales and marketing.
  • Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales efforts and results.
  • Build relationships with insurance agents in the Health Insurance Resource Centers and follow best practices for serving new patient needs.
  • Monitor capitation report, cross-check new patient reports, reach out to termed patients, document reasons for termination and other important metrics as needed.
  • Solicit new patient testimonials and online reviews to boost reputation.
  • Adhere to HIPPA regulations.
  • Secure a net of at least three new agents per month.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Associate degree preferred
  • 2-5 years sales experience; healthcare industry a plus.
  • Experience in a medical office or primary care office ideal, working with insurance plans ideal.
  • Knowledge of Medicare insurance preferred.
  • Passion for patient service and sales.
  • High drive to achieve sales results.
  • Must be Microsoft Office literate, including intermediate level use of Excel.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a related role, such as sales, customer service, relationship management, or account management.
  • Proven outstanding verbal and written communications skills required; candidate must possess the ability to calmly articulate information to various audiences, especially in situations in written and verbal formats to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative to complete tasks.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required. • Knowledge of health care field, specifically Medicare and Medicare Advantage a plus.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations related to patient information or ability to learn.
  • Ability to track and follow up on leads through a CRM system.
  • Skilled in diffusing tense situations through diplomatic problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in using medical records software and customer relationship management tools.
  • Skilled in public speaking and presenting, either 1:1 or in a group setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with new patients, staff, and insurance agents via phone, in person, and through email.
  • Ability to establish relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to use sales skills to provide expert advice and guide warm leads in the decision-making process.
  • Ability to follow up with warm leads and track activities in CRM.
  • Ability to hit and exceed customer service level and new patient acquisition goals.
  • Willingness to accept feedback for improvement as well as sharing ideas with team members
