Job Description

Paradise Christian School is looking to hire a School Cook-Dishwasher (USDA-CCFP FOOD Program) to cook and prepare meals for children and staff. The Center has approx. 215 children and 30+ staff, we serve breakfast, hot lunch and a snack. Meals are served-delivered in a safe manner to each classroom. Staff should be able to understand special menus, dietary needs or allergies and prepare different menus as needed and prepare different meals for special menus.

• Must speak and read enough English to understand Menu's and Special Needs Menu's.
• Be able to work quickly to meet meal times and deadlines.
• Early Childhood Center has a kitchen and prepares meals on site for breakfast, hot lunch and a snack.
• Must be able to follow directions and compliance.
• Have experience cooking and meal preparation.
• Have the organizational skills to maintain all inventory labeled, checking expiration dates and in a safe healthy order.
• Have the organizational skills to maintain all food items at their correct temperatures.
• Have knowledge on proper dish washing and sanitation.
• Have knowledge on proper Thawing and food preparation.
• To be able to supervise assistants and aides ( leadership and accountability).
• To have knowledge on USDA, child food program (CCFP) and Health department requirements of food preparation.
• Must have food service certification, serv safe certification.
• Preferably have a food Manager certification.
• Must have an understanding of allergies and food safety (cross contamination).
• Must have experience in Kitchen and food inventory.
• Must be proficient in computer skills such as word, excel to be able to complete orders and reporting.
• Must be able to keep records and accountability.
• Preferably have the 45 DCF hours, if does not have it must complete within 30 days.
• Preferably have the DCF school readiness and prehire courses if not will have a professional development plan to complete.
• Must be able to pass FDLE level 2 background screening.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and pass.
• Must have a positive disposition to make it a joyful environment.
