Job Description

We are looking for an  Part Time Bookkeeper   to assist with the day-to-day accounting needs in our headquarters office. This opportunity can transition to full time as projects come online in the upcoming year.

Schedule: Onsite, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (9AM–5 PM) or Monday through Friday (9AM-2PM) (24/25 hours per week)

Reports to:   Chief Financial Officer

Duties and Responsibilities  

Accounts Payable

  • Receive, process and verify all invoices
  • Import invoices into accounting software
  • File invoices and match credit memos when needed
  • Print weekly check run for three businesses
  • Match checks with invoices to ensure accuracy before mailing
  • Mail accounts payable checks
  • Upload check batches to bank website
  • Check vendor statements monthly and find missing invoices, if needed
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with accounting controls and procedures
  • Respond to vendor emails as needed
  • Set up new vendor accounts as needed
Cash and Credit Card Handling
  • Reconcile cash sales and cash tips and create bank deposits for pickup
  • Create cash banks for daily bar tills
  • Maintain petty cash bank
  • Organize daily guest receipts
  • Reconcile tip amounts from POS system with tip sheets to ensure accuracy for payroll
  • Assist in pulling necessary information to respond to chargebacks

Requirements for Success:

  • Well-organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable with basic IT and electronic equipment
  • Prior work in accounting within hospitality is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
