The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-directed designer, detail-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity. In this role, you will create high-quality, photorealistic 3D assets, environments, and animations to support product visualization, marketing campaigns, and immersive brand experiences. This role blends artistic vision with technical expertise to bring concepts to life across digital and physical platforms. Key responsibilities include modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering, in collaboration with marketing and product teams. You are eager to learn Amazon's proprietary 3D tools but also bring a wealth of knowledge (ex: Blender) and are willing to partner on feedback loops and product development with tech teams. You know how to lead by example, are organized, and self-motivated. The day to day in this role will range. You will advise science partners on art, design, and motion direction during R&D or be hands on making branded assets for campaigns. You spend the majority of your time in the tools making bar-raising creative and setting the pace for those around you. The Ideal Candidate Has: - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and is comfortable meeting with stakeholders regularly. - A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams and prioritize deliverables. - A strong sense of ownership, urgency, independence, and flexibility. - The technical aptitude to learn the systems and technology used in our day-to-day business. Key job responsibilities Basic Qualifications: - An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong visual communication, a deep understanding of typography, color, print and digital executions, and great user-centered design solutions. Portfolio should also include 3D work. - 5+ years of relevant experience with visual design. - 1-2 years experience with 3D animation tools (Blender, Maya, or something similar) - Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed as needed. - Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Highly proficient in Figma, Adobe Suite, and related design and production software. - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as visual communications or graphic design. - Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects. - Expert understanding of the web production process; familiarity with post-production retouching. - Knowledge of the latest UI & creative tech trends, techniques, and technologies Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of design experience - Have an available online portfolio - Experience in Adobe Creative Suit applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS - Bachelors Degree Preferred Qualifications - Experience with e-commerce, search, social, and other major application types and their UX patterns - Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touch points on different platforms and devices - Experience in designing for both mobile and desktop applications. - Experience with motion design and video editing is a bonus Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
